This building sits on a corner lot on the historic town square, which is listed on the National Historic Register. It has a great view of the town square park.
This 15,000 sq. ft. building was completed in 1947. It was built as a department store on the 5,000 sq. ft. first floor, five 2-bedroom apartments on the 5,000 sq. ft. second floor, and a full 5,000 sq. ft. (dry) concrete basement. It features steel I-beam construction and a brick exterior, with oak floors throughout. It has two furnaces (2017) and two A/C units (2017) that cover the first floor. There is a second street entrance with a staircase that leads up to the second floor. In the 1980’s, the front apartment on the second floor was converted to dentist office utilizing the second street entrance.
The department store closed in the 1980’s and there have been various owners over the years.
